Senior Web Application Developer - Java / Python

One of the leading project based consulting firms in the Boston area is looking to expand its core software engineering group. They refer to all senior level developers as “Senior Technical Consultants” because the expectation is that you will be able to take project from idea to completion. This involves everything from gathering requirements, choosing a technology, architecting a solution, then going and coding it. You’re never on an island alone this is a very much a team oriented job but from a skill set perspective that’s the scope.

The projects can vary from building a mobile platform from the ground up for one of the largest financial institutions in the city to creating an ecommerce website. Typically their bread and butter is high traffic consumer facing web applications.

Required Skills & Experience

• You should be well versed in at least one of the following languages in a web setting Java, Python, Ruby
• You should have a strong full stack background with the ability to code in pure Javascript
• You should have experience working on multiple javascript frameworks – Angular React jQuery etc.
• You should have experience working with relational databases – MySQL, Oracle, SQL etc.

Desired Skills & Experience

• It would be nice if you had backend Javascript experience with things like NodeJS
• It would be nice if you had big data experience with things like Hadoop, Cassandra, MongoDB etc.
• It would be nice if you had experience with cloud technology like AWS
