Data Center Technician

Our client, a Data Center Manufacturer, is actively looking for a Test Technician (Datacenter) to join their team in Fremont, CA! This person will be supporting manufacturing facilities in the area including San Jose, Santa Clara, and Fremont

This Datacenter Technician will partner with Network Infrastructure Engineers and perform server deployment and maintenance in the company’s datacenters. Deployment and maintenance consists of installing servers and switches in racks; unracking servers and racking replacement; Ethernet, fiber and power cable wiring; replacing disk drives and memory; and diagnosing simple hardware issues. A typical day to day will involve remotely diagnosing hardware problems, facilitating server repairs, and managing the company’s hardware assets!

Responsibilities

• Physical racking of equipment (rack prep, rack and stack, switches/routers, etc)
• Run fiber, power and Ethernet cabling
• Replace disk drives and memory
• Diagnose simple hardware issues
• Box/unbox equipment including breakdown/trash
• Organize packages coming in/out of the datacenter
• Locate and process Overdue RMAs
• Conduct fiber work (scope, light meter, cleaning)

 

Desired Skills & Experience

• Must have prior experience working in a datacenter or manufacturing environment
• Must have a laptop, cell phone, driver’s license, and a basic set of hand tools that can be used for this position
• Must have reliable transportation. This role requires movement between local locations and public transportation may not be an option all the time.
